The Concept
Founded in the spring of 2012 by Swabreen Bakr, URBSBOX aims to be an inspirational showcase of stylish brands, creative people and seasonal trends.
Spotlighting both men’s and women’s fashion, our Fashion Editorials and Style Shots feature confident women with a modern and edgy sense of style with nods to seasonal trends. While the URBSVOX man is a well dressed urban dweller who’s all about fit, tailoring and is heavily influenced by classic menswear.
Our Interviews highlight inspiring work from talented creatives and brands; while we track urban culture and its ever changing landscape in our Photo Essays.
What’s it mean anyway?
URBS VOX is a combination of two latin words that can be translated to ‘city voice’ or ‘voices of the city.’ The site taps into talented individuals living in urban areas with the goal of showcasing their style and work.
Creative Director
Swabreen has a background in digital media (photography, video, graphic design and web design) and works as a freelance writer and photographer. As creative director she designs, photographs, edits and writes most all the features on the site. But she is always on the lookout for talented contributors be it in the realm of video, photography or styling and modeling.
